For many of us there are important creative aspects of our lives that we let go of. It might be sport, dance, singing, playing an instrument, composing, writing stories or poetry, woodworking, craft, illustration, fashion, ….  The list of these worthwhile endeavours is long and the time many of us have with them is often short before other choices and commitments take priority. I am certainly one of the many and for me it was drawing and painting.

I have an opportunity to engage with drawing and painting again and make it a significant part of my life.  This blog is a record of a journey to answer the question: Can I realise this opportunity?

I aim to (i) articulate my thoughts, plans and actions, (ii) hold myself accountable, (iii) build community, and (iv) share this journey. By journey I mean all aspects of art practice.  The creative process, art works, and also the other parts.  Building a professional practice and all its component parts.  This blog for example. You’ll get to see what works for me and doesn't, and that might save you a lot of energy, time, effort, emotion, and money.  So, if you’re on a similar journey, or are unsure whether to take the leap, my journey, its highs, lows, and in-betweens might prove a valuable resource to you.

I’d like for this to be as much a community and dialogue as the medium allows.  So I hope you follow my blog, comment or email me, and engage so we can learn something from one another.
